HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

On this very special day...

In 1774 - Austria became the first nation to introduce a state education system.
In 1877 - Thomas Edison demonstrated the first gramophone, with a recording of himself reciting Mary Had a Little Lamb.
In 1926 - Italian Prime Minister/fascist Benito Mussolini introduced a tax on bachelors.

In 2006 - Eddie Barbanell turned 29 years old and thanks his family, friends and fans for all their support through the years*.

Sky Squad Eagle Eight - Landing in early '07

The Greatest Superhero story of all-time is coming soon...

In January or February of 2007, the Cheshire Project will be premiering Sky Squad Eagle Eight in Los Angeles. If you saw the photo from my earlier post, it'll be a film packed with action, humor, fantastic costumes, love, loss, liberty, the pursuit of happines and symmetrical attack formations.

Who needs another Spider Man when Sky Squad's coming??

I'll post an exact time and place once it's announced.

I'm a Special Olympics Board Member

Note: I enjoy announcing big news in a mix of 1st and 3rd Person

Edward Barbanell from The Ringer got a call from Bruce Pasternack President and CEO of Special Olympics Washington DC. He spoke to me over the phone and I said yes I would love to be on the Board of Directors and so Bruce said to me yesterday that you are Officially a member of the Board. I will be going to Shanghai in October 2007 with my family.

This will be a great opportunity for me to speak on behalf of people with disabilites and encourage them to chase their dreams no matter what.

Here's the Special Olympics website. Check it out and meet lots of amazing athletes and wonderful people working together for a great cause.

Big Man on High School Campus

Last week, I went back to High School.

Coral Springs High School hosted a special screening of The Ringer projected on the football field, but I missed the screening because I was working late.

The main thing was that Denise from the Leadership group told me that your fans are here to meet you. So I signed their Autographs and took some Photos with them and they called up thier Friends and Girlfriends and Boyfriends and I spoke to them and I said some lines to them from the movie.

Then I went back home feeling good about myself.

Sky Squad Eagle Eight

(That's me in the middle, that's me in the spot...light, losing my religion - just kidding, still a Jew)

Fans,

Here is a screen shot from my upcoming short film, Sky Squad Eagle Eight. I shot this film during acting camp this summer with my friends at the Cheshire Project in Venice, California.

If you like at least one of the following(superhero movies, comic books, great acting, great directing, top notch cinematography, the triumph of the human spirit, me), then you'll love this movie.

We expect a big premiere screening in Los Angeles in December.

I'll keep you posted, super fans.

Love,

Eddie

The Dark Can't Hide This Kind of Fame

It was 1 A.M. on Tuesday. The power went out I waited 6 hours for the Florida Power and Light company to arrive. When the repair man came he held a 12 Volt flashlight to determine the cause of the problem- then suddenly he said to me as he put his flashlight directly on my face "where do I know you from?" "The Ringer," I said. "Yeah man that was the movie with Johnny Knoxville you were his roommate - It was very funny!"

Pictures From DSP Playoffs in Franklin, Tennessee

A generous man named Rick Radar invited me to Nashville, Tennessee to meet and greet people and sign autographs as part of the DSP Playoffs to plan awareness of people with disabilities. I flew from Miami airport to Nashville on Tuesday. On Wendesday, I spoke in front of the DSP attendees and recited a rap about my experiences on THE RINGER and how it changes attittudes towards people with disabilities.

After my speech, I signed autographs, shook hands and met all kinds of wonderful people.

Meeting My Public While Shopping at Publix

I went food shopping at Publix with my mother. We went to the cash register to pay for our food and an employee, Derek, saw my Ringer shirt and his co-worker and him recognized me from the movie. The employees were flipping out. They wanted my Autograph so I signed my Autograph for them. Derek was rushing for a camera to take a picture of me. The employee told Derek to buy a Camera. So they were rushing for a camera. So as they were getting a camera we left the store with smiles on our faces.

Perspectives Film Festival - Featuring The Ringer

Today's blog thought to my fans is about the upcoming Perspectives Film Festival March 17th through 19th in Los Angeles. The Film Festival is about people with Disabilites doing films about themselves and acting in films so they can showcase their Talents and not let their Disability get in the way. I will be on a panel talking to people about The Ringer and my experience doing the movie and to let people know that people with disabilites have the same needs as anyone else and they should be treated with respect and to be loved.

If you're in Los Angeles, come check it out. It will be fun. And I'll have my autograph pen ready.

Another Star "Sighting"

Aunt Barbara and I went to Pearl vision to fix my eye glasses and there was a mother & daughter sitting together in the store and I was telling them that I was in a movie called The Ringer. They could not believe it. The mother, Janet, who has a son, Manny, who is Autistic - they asked me to sign their autograph. And there was another man who recognized me from the movie. He said to me - you look familiar aren't you Johnny Knoxville's Roommate in the movie. I said, yes I am. The man said oh my God we have a Celebrity here. An employee behind the counter said to me I'm fixing a Celebrity's eye glasses I can't believe it. When we left the store the mother & daughter blessed me and told me that it was an honor to meet a movie star.

Ron Lane: My Acting Coach & My Best Friend

I have a best friend named Ron Lane. He is my acting Coach.

One day, I saw him quoting Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. He inspired me and motivated me to do Shakespeare. We walked and talked and rehearsed Shakespeare and I said to Ron I would love to be able to act in a movie and performe Shakespeare. So Ron and I had breakfast, lunch and dinner together and rehearsed Shakespeare. He taught me how to do Romeo from Romeo and Juliet, Henry the 5th the Prologue, Lancelot Gobbo from Merchant of Venice and Puck from Midsummer Nights Dream.

He is the best friend I've ever had in my life.

Ron has his strange ways, and I'll share some funny stories with you soon along with some pictures.
